Play a geography game with friends
Georoute lets up to eight players race the same route puzzle in a browser. Everyone starts with the same cities and objective, but each player chooses their own stops and vehicles. The best combined score across the match wins.
Create a public or private room
- Open the game and enter a username in the multiplayer section. No account or email address is required.
- Use the suggested route, or choose your cities and mode under Choose route & mode.
- Select 3, 5 or 10 rounds and a planning limit of 2, 3 or 5 minutes per round.
- Create a public room to appear in the open-room list, or a private room to share with your group.
- Copy the invitation link from the lobby. Friends open it and enter their own usernames to join. The host can start once at least two players have joined.
What happens during a race?
Build your route by clicking reachable cities and comparing vehicles. The race board shows player progress. Your goal is to submit an efficient route before the round timer runs out; arriving quickly in real time is not a substitute for choosing a good route.
Fastest rounds reward low travel time, cheapest rounds reward low fares, and budget rounds reward low travel time within the spending cap. A round can end when all players finish or the planning timer expires. Scores accumulate across the match.
Joining a friend’s game
Open the invitation link while the room is in its lobby, choose a username and select Join room. Keep the game open during the race so live progress can update. Private rooms are reached through their invitation links, rather than the public room list.
Practice before the match
Solo play uses the same route rules and scoring, so it is a useful way to learn how transfers and vehicle choices affect a trip. Start with the rules and scoring guide, or read route planning tips before creating your room.
